Kurdish Department Holds a Seminar on “The Similarities between Kurdish and Sumarain Languages”

As a part of a cultural event , on Tuesday September 28, 2021, a seminar was held in Tahir Bakir Hall at the Faculty of Education which was attended by his Excellency Prof. Dr. Wali Mahmood Hamad, Koya University President, Assist. Prof. Dr. Saffen Jalal Fathullah Dean of the Faculty of education and students and teaching staff.

Speaking to Koya University press, Assist. Prof. Dr. Darya Hawezy stated that “As a part of our cultural activities, today we have invited Mr. Tahseen Aziz, who is a Kurdish American and has authored books and dictionaries on linguistics, to do a seminar on the similarities between Kurdish and Sumerian languages. Even though some of the attending university teachers, especially those from the The Department of History had a different take on the content of the seminar, all the attending teachers exchanged views and agreed that there could be further discussions on the topic in the future.”

It is worth mentioning that a large number of students and teaching staff from the Faculty of Education attended the seminar and the seminar lasted for about an hour.

وەك چالاكييەكى ڕۆشنبيرى، ڕۆژى سێشەمە ڕێكەوتى ٢٨- ٩- ٢٠٢١ لە هۆڵى م. تاهير بەكر لە فاكەڵتى پەروەردەى زانكۆى كۆيە، بە ئامادەبوونى بەڕێز پ.د. وەلى مەحمود حەمەد سەرۆكى زانكۆى كۆيەو بەڕێز پ.د. سەفين جەلال فتح الله ڕاگرى فاكەڵتيى پەروەردەو ژمارەيەك لە مامۆستايان و خوێندكاران، سيمنارێك بەڕێوەچوو. بەڕێز پ.ى.د. دەريا حەوێزى لەمبارەيەوە بۆ ڕاگەياندنى زانكۆ گوتى: وەك بەشێك لە چالاكييە ڕۆشنبيرييەكانمان، ئەمڕۆ بەشى زمانى كوردى ميواندارى بەڕێز (تەحسين عەزيز)ى كرد كە كوردێكى دانيشتووى وڵاتى ئەمريكايە، خاوەنى كتێب و فەرهەنگە لە بوارى زماندا، بۆ پێشكەشكردنى سيمينارێك سەبارەت بە خاڵە لێكچووەكانى نێوان زمانى سۆمەرى و زمانى كوردى. هەرچەندە بەشێك لە مامۆستايان بيروڕاى جياوازيان سەبارەت بە ناوەڕۆكى سيمينارەكە هەبوو، بە تايبەتى مامۆستا بەڕێزەكانى بەشى مێژوو، بەڵام بيروڕا ئاڵۆگۆڕكراو دەكرێ لە داهاتوودا قسەى زياتر لەسەر ئەم بابەتە بكرێ. شايانى باسە ژمارەيەكى بەرچاو لە مامۆستايانى بەشەكانى فاكەڵتيى پەروەردەو خوێندكارانى ئەم بەشانە ئامادەى سيمينارەكە بوون و نزيكەى كاتژمێرێكى خاياند
