After a period of inactivity which dated back to 2017, Koya University Weather Station was launched again today.
Today, June 16, 2021, with his excellency Koya University President Prof. Dr. Wali Mahmood Hamad, and a number of the university teaching staff and officials in attendance, Koya University held the relaunching ceremony of its newly renovated weather station.
It is worth mentioning that the station was relaunched with help of the Koya University president and a six-member committee who oversaw the renovation process for more than a year. The purpose of relaunching the station is to collect and record meteorological data using several instruments. Most of collected data is stored at the station. Assist. Prof. Dr. Luqman Wsu Omer said that “One of the instruments that used at the station is connected to the internet and provides live data. It also shows daily climatic data on the world weather map. This type of equipment is available in only three other weather stations across Kurdistan which are Erbil International Airport Weather Station, Slimani International Airport Weather Station and Ankawa Weather Station.”
As mentioned earlier, the newly installed weather equipment along with the repaired ones send data to the global weather network and record climatic data every minute.

ئه‌مرۆ 10-6-2021 به ئاماده‌بوونی به‌رێز سه‌رۆكی زانكۆمان (پ.د. وه‌لی مه‌حمود حه‌مه‌د)، وه به‌ئاماده‌بوونی كۆمه‌لێك له مامۆستایان و كاربه‌ده‌ستانی زانكۆ، رێوره‌سمی كرانه‌وه‌ی بنكه‌ی كشه‌ناسی زانكۆمان به‌رێوه‌چوو.
ئه‌وه‌ی شایانی باسه ئه‌م بنكه‌یه دووباره به پاڵپشتی سه‌رۆكی زانكۆ وه هه‌وڵی لیژنه‌یه‌كی شه‌ش كه‌سی وه بۆماوه‌ی زیاتر له سالێك كاركردن ئه‌م بنكه‌یه كه‌وته‌وه كار، ئه‌ویش به مه‌به‌ستی ئه‌وه‌ی داتا ئاو و هه‌واییه‌كان تۆمار بكرێت له‌رێگه‌ی چه‌ندی ئامێرێكه‌وه بۆ وه‌رگرتنی داتا و هه‌ڵگرتنیان. زۆربه‌ی داتا ئاووهه‌واییه‌كان له‌م بنكه‌یه‌دا هه‌ڵده‌گیربێت.
له‌م باره‌یه‌وه (پ.ی.د. لوقمان وسو عومه‌ر) رایگه‌یاند "یه‌كێك له ئامێره‌كانی ئه‌م بنكه‌یه له‌سه‌ر تۆری ئینته‌رنێت رۆژانه به‌شێوه‌ی راسته‌وخۆ په‌خش ده‌كرێت، رۆژانه داتای بنكه‌كه به‌ناوی زانكۆی كۆیه له‌سه‌ر نه‌خشه‌ی جیهانی كه‌شناسی بڵاوده‌كرێته‌وه. ئه‌م جۆره ئامێره‌ش له هه‌موو كوردستاندا ته‌نها له سێ شوێنیتر هه‌یه، یه‌كێكیان له فرۆكه‌خانه‌ی نێوده‌وڵه‌تی هه‌ولێر، له فۆرۆكه‌خانه‌ی نێوده‌وڵه‌تی سلێمانی، بنكه‌یه‌كی كه‌شناسی له عه‌نكاوه، هه‌روه‌ها بنكه‌ی چواره‌میش له زانكۆی كۆیه".
ئه‌م ئامێره رۆژانه داتا ده‌داته تۆری كه‌شناسی جیهانی. هه‌روه‌ها دوو ئامێریتر له‌كار كه‌وتبوون، ئه‌وانیش نوێكرابوونه‌وه و خرانه‌وه كار. له‌گه‌ل ئه‌مه‌ش دا، ئه‌م ئامێرانه له هه‌ر خوله‌كێك دا زانیاری و داتای نوێ تۆمار ده‌كات.
