Hello everyone,

On behalf of Koya University council and myself, I would like to express my delight at the collaboration between the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW), Mosul University, Cihan University and our university that led to this international workshop titled International Workshop Crisis Management in Higher Education Sector during Covid-19: Opportunities and Limitations.

This is neither the first nor the last collaboration between Koya University and the Polish university of SGGW. Please allow me to take this opportunity to congratulate Professor Za Sada on his new post as the president of SGGW. We Koya University and SGGW have signed a memorandum of understanding and hope that our bilateral relationship will continue to grow.  Our university has also signed a memorandum of understanding with Cihan University and we look forward to future collaborations with them. We have also been working on a new MOU with Mosul University to enhance our collaborative scientific research.

As we all know, the coronavirus pandemic has affected all of humanity across the word and I pray that we get rid of the virus soon. However, the higher education sector and the universities should put enormous efforts to seriously deal with and study the pandemic to develop solutions that minimize the effect of the virus on higher education institutions and help them adapt with the new reality.

I do not want to take up much of your time and would like to let other speakers from all the four universities give their speeches.

I wish you all the best and hope that you all stay safe during this pandemic.

Professor Dr. Wali M. Hamad

President of Koya University
